Merry began her yoga practice in 2006. Coming from a background in cardiovascular training and weightlifting, she initially found yoga challenging due to body stiffness and difficulty with proper breathing. However, after one month of consistent practice, she experienced a deep sense of calm and inner peace through yoga.
Over the years, Merry explored various styles of yoga, including Hatha, Ashtanga, and Vinyasa. After many years of regular practice, she experienced a serious shoulder injury that caused persistent headaches due to nerve involvement. It was during this time that she was introduced to Iyengar Yoga. Through this method, Merry came to understand that yoga is not only about movement, but also about awareness, precise alignment, and a deep understanding of body anatomy.
In her classes at Colour Yoga, Merry emphasizes teaching from the heart. She believes that while yoga offers many physical and therapeutic benefits, these can only be achieved through dedication, consistency, and correct alignment.
